GED Online

24/7 access to your GED class via the internet!

GED Online is an Internet-based interactive course designed to prepare students for academic and personal success through obtaining a State of Florida High School Diploma.

This program strives to reach those students who cannot make it to regularly scheduled classes due to work or family obligations, transportation problems, and/or health issues, etc.

GED Online is tuition free and provides students with the opportunity to learn 24/7, 365 days a year from the convenience of a computer.

This unique learning experience allows instructors to communicate regularly via telephone and email to provide individualized instruction and accommodate the diverse learning styles of the learners.

To be eligible for the GED Online Program, a prospective student must:

  • Score 9.0 or higher on the Level D reading portion of the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE)

  • Have a valid email address and a computer with Internet access and required minimum specifications

  • Commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week in an Internet-based interactive course

GED Online Registration Procedures

  1. All prospective GED Online students must score 9.0 or higher on the Level D reading portion of the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). To determine if a student qualifies for GED Online, an appointment for the TABE can be arranged by calling Vivian Black at (561) 842-9203.

  1. Complete and sign the following enrollment forms. Bring the completed forms to the testing appointment.

     

     

  2. After TABE scores are verified, the registrar faxes the enrollment forms and TABE scores to the Virtual Community School Office.

  3. New student information is sent to the online teacher. The online teacher contacts the new student with a personal phone call and welcome email with the access information, user name, and password to the GED Online Program within 2 - 3 business days

  4. The online teacher guides the student with frequent communication via telephone, email, and coursework feedback
