School Technology and Resource
Support - S.T.A.R.S.
S.T.A.R.S. is located at T.E.N. in Boynton Beach and is available to assist educators
with demonstrations, use of equipment and the training needed
to enhance teaching and to facilitate learning.
Other Accomplishments
T.E.N. has received
the required license to operate a REMOTE PRODUCTION TRUCK.
This truck is a production facility on wheels. It
enables T.E.N. to do productions outside the studios and transmit
the signal back to the facility for distribution over the
Education Broadcast Service (EBS) channels or our open Channel
97.
DlGlTlZATlON
OF T.E.N.’s PRODUCTION AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS nears
completion. Besides providing better signal quality, digitization
of the systems has increased the available channel capacity.
Digitization of the receive sites at the schools and administrative
centers will be completed within the next year. The
increase will expand the options for the delivery of programming
to include two-way video/audio, distance education
courses, and webcasts.
DISTANCE LEARNING
COURSES are offered by T.E.N. via vodcast, broadcast, the internet/intranet,
or teleconferencing. They can be viewed and re-viewed to
provide teachers and students with curriculum opportunities
beyond the classroom. This service also gives teachers the
chance to work on professional development at their own
pace and gain knowledge of new technology and curriculum
enhancements.
