Adult High School/Credit Lab


What is the Adult Credit Program?

The Adult Credit Program provides currently enrolled students (co-enrollees) and Adult students the opportunity to make up classes that were not completed successfully. The purpose of this program is to allow students an opportunity to graduate with a high school diploma.

Who is eligible to enroll?

Co-enrollees must be currently enrolled in high school and need to make up failed courses or improve their GPA.

CREDIT  COURSES

Course offerings may vary by school.

  • English I, English II, English III, English IV

  • Algebra I, Algebra II, Consumer Math, Informal Geometry, Geometry, Liberal Arts Math

  • Biology, Chemistry I, Environmental Science, Integrated /Earth Science

  • African-American History, American Government, American History, Economics, Holocaust, Law Studies

  • Psychology, World History, World Cultural Geography, Life Management Skills, Sociology

  • Art in Other Cultures

  • FCAT Material: Intensive Writing, Intensive Math I, Intensive Reading, Critical Thinking Skills

How can a student register for the Adult Credit Program?
Any student interested in the program must obtain approval from his/her home school Guidance Counselor and/or Principal. Once permission is granted, the student is issued an Adult Credit Permission Slip which allows them to participate

When can a student enroll in the Adult Credit Program?
The program operates on a 12-month basis. It is recommended that students wishing to graduate in June of a given year enroll no later than March of that year.

What do students need to do to earn credits?
Students are expected to demonstrate mastery of the subject matter and Sunshine State Standards. All coursework, including exams, needs to be completed as the student works in an individualized, self-paced classroom.

Enrollment Procedures

Co-Enrolled Students (a student who is presently enrolled in a K-12 program.) You must obtain a signed permission slip from your counselor. All enrollment and registration forms will be completed at your attending school.

Adult Students (a student who has legally withdrawn from school.) You must provide a transcript to determine what course(s) are needed. All enrollment and registration forms will be completed at your attending school.
